Maybe your information was compromised, or you shared an account with someone you’re no longer connected to. Either way, you’ll be glad to know it’s very easy to change your Facebook password in just a few simple steps, on both mobile or desktop.

It’s simple to change your Facebook password on mobile or desktop. Here are a few easy steps with photos.

Click the three small horizontal lines in the left corner of the page.

Click “Settings and Privacy”

Under “Settings and Privacy,” select “Settings”

Select “Security and Login”

Click “Change Password”

Fill in all the password details, and click “Save Changes.”

Facebook recommends that passwords be complex and at least 8 characters long, with a combination of numbers, letters and punctuation marks. Facebook also suggests using a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters for security.

Steps to change Facebook password on desktop

Click the small arrow in the blue bar on the top righthand corner of the page.

From the drop-down menu, click “Settings”

Fill out the form with your current and new Facebook password.
