Is your company looking to hire a new executive? Well, you’ve come to the right place.
That’s right – we’re talking about the oh-so-coveted C-Suite.
A number of professionals devote their entire career to eventually securing a C-Suite title. And who can blame them? Those three letters may as well translate to the boss.
Writing a job description for an executive is almost always a group effort. How can you identify the responsibilities of somebody who is responsible for, well, everything? It requires insight from your human resources department, other executives and higher-ups, and likely, your company’s board members.
Accompany this with the fact that there are a lot of c-suite roles and, let’s just say, you have your work cut out for you. And while you likely already have your CEO in place (if not, Godspeed), there are still plenty of other executives you may be hiring – especially if you work at a newer company.
To make your life just a little bit easier, we’ve supplied the following job descriptions as starting points. Additionally, each job description includes three industry examples so you can see exactly how some of your favorite companies are seeking out their executives.
Keep in mind that when it comes to C-suite roles (and most roles within a business), there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. The following job descriptions should be taken with a grain of salt. While they offer some typical responsibilities of each role, your organization likely has its own unique needs and nuances. The job descriptions should be adjusted to reflect that.
